Country singer Allen Shamblin to visit Heights school
Country music singer Allen Shamblin will visit Looscan Elementary School on Thursday, Nov. 3.
Shamblin will be talking to students from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. about the book he co-authored, Don’t Laugh at Me, which deals with bullying.
Looscan Elementary is located at 3800 Robertson St. in Houston
Following his appearance at Looscan, Shamblin will perform at 7 p.m. at the Junior League for “A Celebration of Story,” which will benefit Writers in the Schools.
Proceeds from the dinner and silent auction will provide for WITS’s yearlong literacy programs for underserved students in schools, hospitals, community centers, parks, hospitals and homeless shelters.
